Sensei Kevin Funston has trained directly under Grandmaster Allan L. Viernes† at the headquarters in Westbrook, Maine.† While training under Grandmaster, Sensei Kevin competed on both the I.I.P.O.N.E. and SMART Martial Arts circuits Earning a State of Maine Championship. Sensei Kevin also traveled with Team JUKADO to compete in the 1999 World championships in Fuggi, Italy where he took fourth in his division. On April 21st, 2000 Sensei Kevin became the third Black belt under Grandmaster Allan and earned the title Sensei. In 2001, Sensei Kevin Was recalled to Active Duty in support of Operation Noble Eagle. After his recall to active duty, Sensei Kevin reenlisted in the U.S. Navy and is Currently stationed at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Sensei Kevin crossed trained in Judo and Aikido in 2002.† In 2003, Sensei Kevin also cross trained in Odo Kwon Tae Kwon Do with the Elite Academy of Martial Arts.

Sempai Alex Funston has been training in the Martial arts since 1997 she began her training at the age of 7. She trained directly under Grandmaster Allan L. Viernes and Master Instructor Shihan Jennifer Viernes in Westbrook, Maine. Sempai Alex holds a 1st degree Black belt in the art of JUKADO. In 2003, Sempai Alex† moved with her family to Oklahoma City and continued her training by cross training in Tae Kwon Do.† Sempai Alex was also instrumental in the opening of the Oklahoma school of JUKADO. Her skills with children made her an essential part of the success of our Lilí Dragons and Dragons (kid) programs. In 2010, Sempai Alex traveled to the hombu or headquarters in Westbrook, Maine where she successfully tested and earned her her 1st degree black belt and Sempai title. Sempai Alex resides in Tallequah, Oklahoma, where she is pursuing a Master degree in Speech Pathology at Northeastern State University. Sempai Alex regularly travels to the Oklahoma dojo to help with testing and to participate in the many local tournaments.†

Sensei Barbara Funston has been training in the Martial arts since 1997. She trained directly under Grandmaster Allan L. Viernes and Master Instructor Shihan Jennifer Viernes in Westbrook, Maine. Sensei Barb was a quick study and through her efforts and dedication she earned the title assistant instructor. In June 2001, Sensei Barb earned her blackbelt and the honored title of Sensei. She became the 9th blackbelt promoted under Grandmaster Allan. In 2003, Sensei Barb moved with her family to Oklahoma City where she began cross training in Odo Kwon Tae Kwon Do and earned a 1st degree Black belt. Sensei Barb also became Turbo Kicks certified and is the lead instructor in our Cardio-Karate and stretching classes. Sensei Barb is co-owner of JUKADO OKC and the Lead Instructor.
